                                                                               ...help pets fight cancer

the purpose:

Cancer affects both humans and animals at alarmingly high rates. It seems everyone knows someone affected by this disease and pets are no execption. There are many similarities between pet and human cancer, which is why research in this area is so important. Join us as we walk to celebrate those who have survived and to raise funds for the Morris Animal Foundation and their pet cancer research programs. 100% of all funds raised for this event go directly to this organization.

the walk:

Sponsored by the Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital, participants and their pets complete a 2.5 mile walk, starting at the hospital and utilizing the grounds and walkways of Siemens Corporation and AT&T. We will use Siemens parking lot for parking. We will walk rain or shine.

fundraising:

We encourage family and friends, co-workers or organizations, to "form a pack" to walk together under one name. An honorary plaque is presented to the pack with the highest donations. Use your imagination and wear matching colors, dress up your pet or carry a banner to identify your pack. 2012 Pack Winners were "Thunder" who walked with Thunder Ketchman a black labrador retriever. registration:

All participants in the walkathon will need to fill out a registartion form, and provide proof of current rabies vaccination, if they are walking with their pet. The registration form along with cash and check donations made out to Morris Animal Foundation, can be turned into our hospital prior to or on the day of the event. For your convenience, credit cards are accepted. Donations are: $25 for an individual, $35 for a family, $75 for a small pack ( 5 people or less) $100 for a large pack (6 people or more).

photos:

We are creating a photo board and are looking for pictures of your pets-those who have survived, those who have passed and those who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. If you would like to submit a photo for our board please include the pet's name and why you are honoring them today. Email us at info@heanimalhospital.com or mail them to us at 35 S.
