Dr. Behm received her BS in Animal Ecology and her DVM from Iowa State University. In school she volunteered for the Feral Cat Clinic and local shelters. She has been a member of AVMA since vet school. During vet school she was able to spend 4 weeks at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital in Hannover, Germany and 2 weeks at the Agricultural Veterinary School in Beijing, China. Both experiences showed her that the human-animal bond is important throughout the world.

Dr. Behm has been practicing at Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital since June, 2007 and she enjoys doing soft tissue surgery and neurology. She also teaches Puppy Classes on alternate months with Williams here at the hospital.

In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading, biking and swimming. She has two cats: Stormy and Singe. Singe had a rough start and was abused as a kitten. He had to have an eye removed but today is happy and healthy. Dr. Behm has wanted to be a vet since she was 6 years old and can't remember wanting to be anything else!
